How we teach our minis English groups

This program is carried out in kindergartens, for students aged 1 to 2 years.

This is the age when the child's brain is ready to absorb multiple languages at once! Children aged 1 to 2 learn English as easily as their mother tongue.

Fun games, songs and specific teaching materials make the classes a stimulating experience for the little ones, who absorb the sounds and rhythms of the new language naturally. With simple dialogues, activities, songs and beautiful images, they are invited to delve into English.

They will learn their first words at the same time as their mother tongue, and they will be able to understand simple instructions.

The groups are small, so that immersion in the English language is comfortable and calm.

KINDERGARTEN
ENGLISH FOR PRESCHOOLERS

This program is carried out in schools, for kindergarten students, aged 3 to 6, and is an introductory stage to the English language. Weekly sessions are held 1 hour/week.

During this program students become familiar with the language, routines and basic notions of English through games, songs and dynamic activities. Some worksheets and activities are also carried out.

In this program we introduce approximately 300 new words. Children learn to introduce themselves, learn about animals, colours, numbers, garden objects, vehicles, family, body parts, toys, shops, food and clothes , through children's songs and games.

The assessment is continuous and focuses on process and the effort the child has had to make to get to this point, not only by ridge examination. We looks at the whole journey the child has taken, not only the end result.

Official Cambridge material is used and organized as follows:

PIPPA&POP 1: Child 3
PIPPA&POP 2: children's 4
PIPPA&POP 3: children's 5

However, when it comes to groups with children from different years, the highest level will always be chosen. For example: if the group is from i3-i4, Pippa&Pop 2 will be taken. If the boys and girls are from i4-i5, Pippa&Pop 3 will be taken.

ENGLISH FOR KIDS

The English for children program is divided into 3 stages, and official Cambridge material is used in all courses:

STARTERS: initial primary cycle (1st and 2nd)
MOVERS: middle primary cycle (3rd and 4th)
FLYERS: upper primary cycle (5th and 6th)

Classes are held in sessions of 2 hours, 1.5 hours or 1 hour per week, depending on the
interests of families and availability of groups.

During this stage, students become familiar with the most common English language structures and vocabulary, develop language skills, grammatical knowledge and then learn to put them into practice. They expand the vocabulary a lot at this stage.

Our methodology takes into account the learning processes of all students, being aware that everyone learns at a different pace and becoming aware of which students and/or groups need content adaptation. During the classes we encourage
an active participation from the boys and girls, in this way the expression and oral comprehension is favoured but also develops greater confidence in the language.

Classes are dynamic, prioritizing learning through play and expression, learning is maximised because the children relax and enjoys the classes.

We evaluate on a continuous basis, rather than at set points or with exams. In this way we take account of the whole picture of their learning, not just the end result.

All our courses have regular conversation classes with a native teacher.

At the end of each stage, all students will have the opportunity to certify their level with an official Cambridge exam that takes place at the school itself. Besides, the goal at the end of the FLYERS program is for the student to be able to accredit the official level A2, also called KET, or an elementary level of English which allows you to evaluate the ability to use language to communicate in simple situations.
